You're invited to use this topic to discuss the quotations from Elephants Can Remember (1972) – the last novel Agatha Christie wrote to feature her master detective Hercule Poirot.

(Although Curtain: Poirot's Last Case was published 3 years later, in 1975, it was written decades sooner, in the early 1940s.)

You may also use this thread for general discussions about this literary work; you do not necessarily need to discuss specific quotations.

Or, if you'd like to talk about anything else related to Agatha Christie or Hercule Poirot, feel free to create a new discussion topic.

Well, as I've mentioned elsewhere quite a few times, I find Elephants Can Remember, along with Third Girl (1966), to be the worst Agatha Christie novels I've read so far. I perceive them as unmitigated disasters, from the literary point of view. I would rate both of them a clear F.

That is one of the reasons why I was only able to select a single memorable quotation from Elephants Can Remember. I'm grateful there were at least these few lines I could truly enjoy in this novel :!:

Other readers may feel very differently, though. Feel free to post your dissenting opinions right here in the forum (no registration necessary).

Or, if you believe there are more excerpts worth quoting from Elephants Can Remember, just go ahead and add them to the collection :!: (You don't need to be registered or logged in when adding quotations; it's an easy click-and-send method; you only need a couple of seconds to post a quotation online.)
