From A Book of Quotations
Faterson is the nickname of the founder of this Book of Quotations. It's composed of Fat- and -erson, to allude to two of his favourite writers: Leo Tolstoy (which means Fat in Russian) and Ralph Waldo Emerson.
No matter how contrived such composition of a nickname may seem – Faterson was seen to be used as a pseudonym on the Internet by people with no relation to the founder of this Book of Quotations, and the nickname in their case is likely to have quite a different origin.
Lest we forget, there are actually even a few people for whom Faterson is their genuine family name.
